The church has a rich ecclesiastical vocabulary. Sadly, many of these wonderful words are going unused and unsaid. The New Wineskins Dictionary seeks to redefine these beautiful words for the modern, discerning churchgoer.

This is an ongoing project and new definitions will be added regularly so do keep visiting.  If there is a word for which you would like a definition or you would simply like to communicate with us, please email NWdictionary@gmail.com.

The two harmless drudges who created this site are @vahva and @doctorludo – we are husband and wife and love making each other laugh.

New Wineskins Dictionary is named after one of Jesus’ parables.  We are not affiliated with the New Wineskins Churches in the US.
